Previously, registering your business as a Micro Small Medium Enterprise (MSME) was a difficult, time-consuming, and stressful bureaucratic process. However, Udyog Aadhar makes it easier. The main goal of creating Udyog Aadhar is to make the process of registering a firm as a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) easier, and it has proven to be successful.
Before learning about the UAM system, it’s important to understand the previous EM-I/II system (Entrepreneur Memorandum).
Entrepreneurs used to choose from a variety of schemes under this system, such as the national portal, a few states’ own portals for MSME registration, and so on. Regardless, things have settled down since the Udyog Aadhar was replaced.
WHAT IS UDYOG AADHAR AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Udyog Aadhar is simply a business version of Aadhaar. It is a twelve-digit unique registration number issued by the Government of India for small and medium firms under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Act, 2006 (MSMED).
The Udyog Aadhaar initiative was launched in September 2015 with the goal of supporting micro and small companies. By July 2018, over 48 lakh MSMEs in India had enrolled for Udyog Aadhaar. MEME Registration was the previous name for Udyog Aadhar.
Later, the MSME registration procedure was merged with the Udyog Aadhar registration process. It’s a 100% free online procedure.
